Pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances. 1 Thess. 5:17-18
1. Sunday: Let’s commit ourselves to walk in step with the Holy Spirit as we enter 2012.
2. Monday: Pray for safe travel for Slavic youth from the US and Manitoba who are gathering at Camp Cedarwood Jan. 2-5. Pray that God’s love will touch them and ignite young hearts to follow him. Leaders: Vladimir and Olga Moldovanenko.
3. Tuesday: George Klassen is retiring from his work as Director of SOUL (School of Urban Leadership). We are thankful for his diligent work in establishing this school for inner city ministries. Let’s pray God’s rich blessing on George and Eileen.
4. Wednesday: Raul Bogoya is beginning as the new Director of SOUL this month. Pray for God’s guidance as he meets students and provides leadership training for Christians serving in the inner city.
5. Thursday: “Church Planting Manitoba” is the new name for “Missions and Church Extension” (MCE). Pray for each region and each city in our province that God would prepare and send out the workers needed for new churches. Director: Russ Toews.
6. Friday: With his culinary skill, Keith serves good food for the men’s breakfasts in Thompson. The men are having breakfast tomorrow to talk about “The Power of a Man: Using your influence as a man of character”. Pastor: Ted Goossen.
7. Saturday: We’re invited to walk in the light, to walk with God in whom there is no darkness. 1 John 1.
8. Sunday: Many churches in Winnipeg are gathering at the MTS Centre today for the “One Heart Celebration” to unite with other Christians and celebrate one Lord, one church, one harvest.
9. Monday: It’s prayer week at Jubilee Mennonite Church Jan. 8-15. Pray that they will truly seek God’s face as they pray together. Pastor: Dan Nighswander.
10. Tuesday: This is a busy time in the Manitoba MB Conference office. Pray for strength for Elton DaSilva, Executive Director, and Stella Labossiere, accountant, in their work with all the financial details.
11. Wednesday: Pray for Stu and Haylie, youth leaders at the Crossroads Church. Pray also for relational and spiritual growth among the youth.
12. Thursday: Portage Avenue Church is thankful for the faithful ministry of Travis Reimer during the past three years. We want to bless Travis and Lois as they retire and enjoy more time with family.
13. Friday: The La Salle church is starting a new “Parenting Children” Alpha course tomorrow. Pray that parents will gain fresh insights and time-tested values for their families. Presenter: Ray Klassen.
14. Saturday: We’re invited to be honest before God, to confess our sins to him who is faithful and will forgive our sins. 1 John 1-2.
15. Sunday: Portage Avenue Church is celebrating and commissioning George Toews as their new pastor today. Let’s pray God’s joy and blessing on George and Carla and this congregation.
16. Monday: Members of the Winkler MB Church are learning more about “attentive prayer” today. Pray for open ears and hearts to hear God’s voice. Presenter: Lloyd Letkeman, MB Mission.
17. Tuesday: This is a cold and difficult time for homeless people in Winnipeg. Pray for wisdom for Rachel Twigg Boyce and the House Blend group as they minister in the West End.
18. Wednesday: The leadership board of the Manitoba Conference meets today to seek God’s direction for ministry and to prepare for Assembly March 2-3 at the North Kildonan MB Church. Moderator: Harold Froese. Executive Director: Elton DaSilva.
19. Thursday: Our focus today is on our home church. Let’s pray for our pastor(s) and leaders in ministry.
20. Friday: Men from the Steinbach MB Church are heading to Camp Arnes today for the men’s retreat. They want to grow in “Being God’s Man – for home, church, and society”. Speaker: Chuck Nichols.
21. Saturday: We’re invited to walk as Jesus did, to obey his commands. Pray that God’s Word will impact our attitudes and actions. 1 John 2.
22. Sunday: Geoff Unrau is stepping in as interim pastor in Boissevain. We praise God for Geoff and Kelly and their willingness to serve.
23. Monday: “Do everything in love” is the focus of this spiritual emphasis week at MBCI. Pray that students will find new ways to be God’s love in the world. Speakers: Danny MacKay, Cory Bell, Denver Wilson.
24. Tuesday: “David – Seeking a heart like his” is the invitation of women’s Bible studies at North Kildonan MB Church. Praise God for changed hearts and lives. Leader: Meggie.
25. Wednesday: The Selkirk Church is having its AGM (annual general meeting) on Sunday, Jan. 29. Pray for a spirit of unity, purpose, and a clear sense of where God is leading them. Moderator: Ron.
26. Thursday: Believers in Carman are invited to a “Fiesta at Friends Church” on Sunday, Jan. 29, to celebrate the exciting ministries of Family Life Network around the globe. Speaker: Claude Pratte.
27. Friday: Youth from Altona are heading to Pembina Valley Bible Camp this weekend to grow in their faith and enjoy time with friends. Speaker: Larry Reimer. Youth Pastor: Dan Macloskie.
28. Saturday: We’re invited to love our brothers and sisters. Let’s pray that God’s love will permeate our relationships with believers. 1 John 2.
29. Sunday: Chinese Christians are celebrating the Chinese New Year today. Pray that people will come and begin a new life with Jesus. Pastor couple: Luc and Hoa Tran.
30. Monday: Cynthia Frazer, Elmwood community pastor, has a wonderful ability to connect with teen girls at the Manitoba Youth Center prison. Pray for wisdom as she speaks God’s truth into their lives.
31. Tuesday: The construction of a new Hudbay gold mine in Snow Lake is progressing well. Pray for safety for the construction and mining crews. Pray also that new people in town will find a spiritual home in the church. Leader: Kari Pulkkinen.
