Barnabas Bursary - Steinbach Bible College
The Barnabas Bursary Program is a partnership between SBC and various conferences (MBCM, CMC, EMMC, and EMC) designed to support the training of future pastors identified by their congregations. This program provides significant financial assistance to help prepare individuals for pastoral leadership.
Who is Eligible?

Mature individuals with the potential and willingness to become pastors, identified by their church and selected by their conference.

Applicants must not currently be pastors seeking professional development.

Individuals can study part-time or full-time, with all courses available online.
Program Benefits

Financial support for tuition is split equally between SBC, the conference, and the student (or their congregation).

Up to five years of bursary support, as long as the student completes at least two courses annually.

Priority for campus housing (if available) for students applying by April 30.

Opportunity to attend SBC in person for at least one semester to build meaningful connections with faculty and peers.
Commitment
-
Students must commit to serving in their church for two years after graduation.

Church Nomination: A church identifies a potential candidate for pastoral training.

Conference Selection: MBCM select one recipient annually and notify SBC.

SBC Admission: The candidate must meet SBC’s application and admission requirements.

Pastoral Training Fund
The MBCM Pastoral Training Fund supports the development of pastoral leaders through scholarships and bursaries, prioritizing seminary students in ministry tracks. This initiative helps alleviate the financial burden of theological education and invests in the future of church leadership.
Program Highlights

Scholarships: Merit-based awards for full-time students, focusing on pastoral candidates in graduate theological studies.

Prioritization: Preference given to students in the MB Track at CMU Graduate Theological Studies.
Funding Details

Full-Time Scholarships:

$5,000/year, up to 3 years.

Total value: $15,000 per recipient.

Part-Time Tuition Bursaries:

$5,000/year for approximately 7 bursaries annually.

Discretionary Bursaries:

$2,000/year for exceptional candidates or leadership development needs.

Funds are paid directly to institutions or reimbursed to students upon proof of completion.

Primarily for MB Seminary-Winnipeg (other institutions considered).

Must be on the pastoral staff of a Manitoba MB church.
