The Meeting Place is looking for an Elementary Programmer to join our Family Ministries
Team!

Term Details
This is a part-time (20 hours/week) term position covering a 15-month maternity leave. This
position offers flexible hours, but requires availability on Sunday mornings, Tuesday, and
occasional evenings for meetings or events.

About The Meeting Place
We are a Mennonite Brethren church in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. Our mission is to
be a biblically functioning community, leading people to become fully devoted followers of
Jesus Christ. The Meeting Place is a diverse community, bringing many cultures and
circumstances together with a common desire to be changed by Jesus, who brings
understanding and healing to our broken world.

Role Summary
The Elementary Programmer will lead and provide spiritual care for students in grades 1-4
and report to our Family Director. Their primary role will be to lead a weekly program on
Sunday mornings in our elementary environment called “Studio B.”

Key Responsibilities
• Plan and execute weekly programming that utilizes our curriculum.
• Equip, empower, and encourage volunteer teams, including Teachers, Small Group Leaders, Support Leaders, and Tech Team members.
• Schedule and communicate with volunteer teams on a weekly basis.
• Provide regular, timely, and professional communication to parents of children in our
TMP Kids environments.
• Ensure that our MBCM Safe Place Policy is adhered to. This involves tracking attendance, maintaining appropriate adult-child ratios, and administering volunteer applications.
• Maintain regular meetings with the Family Director to receive spiritual care.
• Attend all staff meetings, staff retreats, and staff events.

Required Qualifications
• Experience working with children or youth
• Personal commitment to the CCMBC Confession of Faith
• Personal adherence to the CCMBC Code of Christian Conduct
• Completion of a criminal record and vulnerable sector check
• Comfort speaking and presenting to groups of children
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Office)

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with kids’ ministry curriculum
• Experience in event planning and volunteer coordination
